About CSGHP Ltd
23 years on the tools,
six years running CSGHP
Chris Smith started in the trade in 2003, completing his apprenticeship at British Gas before moving on to E.ON and then Vaillant. Those years covered thousands of homes and every kind of heating fault, along with the manufacturer-level training that comes with working directly for a boiler brand.
In 2019 he set up CSGHP Ltd to do the work his own way: properly specified boilers, honest pricing, and the same engineer turning up rather than whoever the call centre could find. Chris still runs the business day to day and is on most jobs himself, supported by a small, trusted team of engineers brought in for larger projects.
Every job is backed by £2,000,000 public liability cover and a 12-month workmanship guarantee on most work. We're domestic only, homes, landlords and letting agents - which keeps our experience concentrated exactly where you need it.

what happens next
How much does a boiler repair visit cost?
A diagnostic call-out is £80 + VAT and includes the first hour on site. If more work is needed after that, we quote it before carrying on, there is no open-ended hourly billing.
Is a quote for a new boiler free?
Yes. Quotes for new boilers and heating installations are free, and installations are priced as a fixed quote rather than an estimate that creeps.
What guarantee do I get?
A 12-month workmanship guarantee applies to most work, with terms varying for certain repairs, ask us for the details on your job. New boilers also carry a manufacturer warranty of 5, 7 or 10 years depending on the boiler chosen.
I think I can smell gas. What should I do?
Leave the gas off, open windows and call the National Gas Emergency Service (Cadent) on 0800 111 999 first. Once the escape has been made safe, call us and we will pick up the repair.
Do you carry out emergency call-outs?
Yes: boiler breakdowns and gas faults, with a same or next-day response wherever possible during our opening hours.
Do you work on commercial premises?
No. We are domestic only, which keeps our gas and heating work focused on homes, landlords and letting agents.
Which boilers do you install?
We are a Baxi approved installer and a Vaillant registered installer, so those are our usual recommendations. If you have a brand preference we are happy to work with it, and if you would rather not choose we will size and specify the right boiler for your home.
How do payments work?
Boiler installations are paid on completion, with a deposit requested in some situations. Larger projects that run across several visits are set up as staged payments.
